Miętowy szal | The Mint Shawl

I’ve always wanted to look like one of those women in Waterhouse’s paintings. With this shawl, nothing is easier.

Model Pattern: Estonian Lace Scarf, Nancy Bush
Włóczka Yarn: Fonty BB Mérinos

Jedyna zmiana: zrobiłam szal znacznie większy niż w opisie, czyli powtórzyłam cały wzór na szerokość. Jest też znacznie dłuższy.

There was one modification: I made it much larger than in the original pattern. Twice the chart, that is. And much longer.

Wzór z rombów to czysta przyjemność, a bąbelki wyszły prześlicznie.

The diamond pattern was fun to knit and the nupps are lovely.

To jej inicjały, i całkiem przypadkiem moje też.

I found this pin in my Mum’s drawer. Somehow I’ve never seen it there before and I didn’t notice what it really was until she showed me. It’s her initials, and incidentally mine, too.

I managed the edging. The number of stitches was wrong (probably as a result of the dimensions change) and I had to improvise around the corners. I don’t think anyone will notice, though. And the edge is fine in all other places.

Szal jest cudownie miękki i cieplutki. Na szerokość akurat taki, żeby przykryć plecy, i taki długi, żeby się parę razy owinąć.

The shawl is wonderfully soft and warm. It’s just wide enough to cover my back and long enough to wrap it around myself a few times.

Na koniec ujęcie romantyczne. Strasznie mi się podoba mój Miętowy szal!

One final romantic shot. I absolutely love my Mint Shawl!

Tarte au citron

Proszę bardzo, zrobiłam. Żółta, cytrynowa i przepyszna.

There you go, I made it. It’s yellow, it’s lemon and it’s delicious.

Corpus Christi has always marked the beginning of summer for me, maybe that’s the reason for this yellow obsession.

Proszę nie odchodzić od radioodbiorników. Już jutro: Miętowy szal.

Stay tuned. Tomorrow: the Mint Shawl.

Smaczne kolory | Yummy colours

In the autumn I bought a few white iris bulbs and was very disappointed when they didn’t come out in the spring. Now it turns out they did after all but they’re not white.

I still think I’d prefer white irises but these also look great.

Oto mój naświeższy projekt: Mellow Yellow. To Waves of Grain Rosemary Hill, a włóczka – Supreme Cotton.

Introducing my latest project: Mellow Yellow. It’s Rosemary Hill’s Waves of Grain, knit in Supreme Cotton. This yarn is just so nice to touch, almost velvet, and I love the colour - it reminds me of a lemon tart (it’s been more than a month since I’ve made one, too long).

I ma koraliki!

And it’s beaded!
