Miętowy szal | The Mint Shawl

Zawsze chciałam wyglądać jak na obrazach Waterhouse’a. Z tym szalem na ramionach – nic prostszego.

I’ve always wanted to look like one of those women in Waterhouse’s paintings. With this shawl, nothing is easier.

Włóczka Yarn: Fonty BB Mérinos

Jedyna zmiana: zrobiłam szal znacznie większy niż w opisie, czyli powtórzyłam cały wzór na szerokość. Jest też znacznie dłuższy.

There was one modification: I made it much larger than in the original pattern. Twice the chart, that is. And much longer.





Wzór z rombów to czysta przyjemność, a bąbelki wyszły prześlicznie.

The diamond pattern was fun to knit and the nupps are lovely.

Szpilkę wygrzebałam w szufladzie mojej Mamy. Dziwnym sposobem nie widziałam jej tam wcześniej i nie zorientowałam się, co przedstawia, dopóki Mama mi nie pokazała. To jej inicjały, i całkiem przypadkiem moje też.

I found this pin in my Mum’s drawer. Somehow I’ve never seen it there before and I didn’t notice what it really was until she showed me. It’s her initials, and incidentally mine, too.

Udało mi się zrobić obramowanie. Nie zgadzała się ilość oczek (pewnie przez ten podwójny schemat) i na rogach musiałam improwizować. Coś nie sądzę, żeby ktokolwiek zwrócił na to uwagę. A w pozostałych miejscach brzegi są bez zarzutu.

I managed the edging. The number of stitches was wrong (probably as a result of the dimensions change) and I had to improvise around the corners. I don’t think anyone will notice, though. And the edge is fine in all other places.

Szal jest cudownie miękki i cieplutki. Na szerokość akurat taki, żeby przykryć plecy, i taki długi, żeby się parę razy owinąć.

The shawl is wonderfully soft and warm. It’s just wide enough to cover my back and long enough to wrap it around myself a few times.

Na koniec ujęcie romantyczne. Strasznie mi się podoba mój Miętowy szal!
